How It Works

Step 1: Apply Online

Download our fillable PDF online applications to express your interest in becoming a host. Then email them to us at  thehostalternatives@yahoo.com. 

We’ll review your information and reach out to discuss the next steps.

(screening process including background check will be performed)

Host Family Support Coordinator

Location: Denver, CO

Job Description:
As a Host Family Support Coordinator, you will provide guidance and assistance to our host families, ensuring they have the resources and support needed to offer the best care possible. Responsibilities include conducting regular check-ins, facilitating training sessions, and addressing any issues that arise to maintain high standards of care.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, or a related field
  • Experience working with individuals with disabilities
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills

Community Integration Specialist

Location: Colorado Springs, CO

Job Description:
The Community Integration Specialist will develop and implement programs that foster community involvement for individuals with disabilities. This role involves organizing social events, coordinating outings, and collaborating with local organizations to create inclusive opportunities.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Education, Social Work, or a related field
  • Experience in event planning or community outreach
  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills

Disability Services Trainer

Location: Fort Collins, CO

Job Description:
As a Disability Services Trainer, you will design and conduct training programs for host families, focusing on best practices in caring for individuals with disabilities. You will stay updated on the latest research and methods in disability care to ensure our training programs are comprehensive and effective.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Special Education, Nursing, or a related field
  • Professional experience in disability services or caregiving
  • Strong presentation and instructional skills
